Wales hosted the Junior Camrose and Peggy Bayer events on 20-22 February 2015 at the Seabank Hotel at Porthcawl. Our two teams acquitted themselves well. Report with photos
This year's Camrose home internationals had a sad ending. Wales led the table after the first weekend and were still 12 VPs ahead going into the very last match against Scotland. Sadly we lost that match 4-16 and so came second overall. Report with photos here
The 2015 Teltscher Trophy was in Ireland. We beat England (twice), Northern Ireland (twice) and Scotland (once). Starting the last match against Ireland, the leaders, a big Welsh win could have secured the trophy, but Ireland played too well and Wales finished 4th, just behind England. Mike Tedd has looked after this WBU web site since 2006. In August 2015, I will be passing on the responsibility. Neville plans to merge the two sites.
I intend to spend more time on the history of the WBU, though, and would very much appreciate any contributions that you can send me. I have annual journals going back to 1968-9; do you have older ones? I know very little about bridge in Wales in the 1930s and would like to know more. Tidying up records of past competitions is also on my agenda.
