The WBU Journal

The 2009 edition of the WBU Journal has reached the website. This is the annual publication with the results of last year's competitions, details of clubs, this year's competitions, rules and regulations, master point lists, the calendar and everything else you need to know to play bridge in Wales. WBU Newsletters

The Newsletter has been revived (December 2009). Read it online here.

Until 2005, the WBU published a Newsletter which was also distributed free to all members, through the clubs. Here are the editions we have been able to find, in PDF format. To obtain a PDF reader, see the box on the lower left of the screen.

I am particularly indebted to Noelle Bond who lent me her extensive collection of Newsletters, which I have scanned and made accessible through this page.

The WBU Magazine

Four editions of a biannual WBU magazine, three edited by Gwynn Davis and Susan Ingham and one by Julian Pottage, were published early in 2007 and 2008. You can read them online here:

Orange Book

The updates to the 2006 Orange Book (which defines the conventions players are permitted to use) are now available, and became operational on 1st August 2007. Click here to download the complete book, or click here to download the updates only.

Appeals Booklets

David Stevenson produces an annual booklet describing and discussing all the appeals that have taken place associated with WBU events. You can find the full set of these booklets on his website here, together with similar booklets for EBU and North American events. These booklets are heartily recommended reading for players as well as appeal committee members and tournament directors!
