Competitions
The general rules and regulations for all WBU Competitions, the entry fees and how to contact people who can help with rulings and appeals can be found in the WBU Journal 2010-11, which may be read online here.
Detailed rules and arrangements for individual competitions can also be found in the Journal. General advice on accommodation, as well as specific information for some of our venues, can be found here.
Entries for many events, as indicated, should be made to the National Tournament Organiser (NTO), Sheila Shea. Other entry, selection or invitation arrangements are explained in the table.
The Graded Masters was the first of several events to be held in 2010 at the Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells. At this excellent venue we can eat (not too late - 8pm) and start again at 10.30 on Sunday playing a reasonable number of boards to finish about 4pm. Attractive rates for accommodation at the Metropole have been arranged.
Old results
I (Mike Tedd) have been trying to put together everything I can about the past winners of WBU competitions. Most of this data comes from the annual WBU Journal, and I am indebted to my late mother-in-law, Mrs Margaret Davies of Aberystwyth, who was able to lend me a full set of Journals from 1969 on. Roy Griffin kindly added data from the 1960s.
You can see a large table of all this data in PDF form here. I would greatly appreciate it if you could point out all the inevitable errors, and fill in the gaps. Results earlier than 1960 would be particularly valuable! See the Contacts page for my address etc.
