The selectors invited applications from teams interested in representing Wales in the European Championships in Croatia or the Commonwealth Nations Bridge in Glasgow. A trial was held on 19-20 July for the Commonwealth event - more information regulations (revised). Results

The selectors have now decided that the teams for the Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championship in Glasgow will be Mike Tedd & John Salisbury, Gary Jones & Tim Rees, Patrick Jourdain & Tony Ratcliff who will be the “Medal Team”and Patrick Shields & Paul Denning, Julian Pottage & Richard Plackett who will be the "Non-Medal" team.
